moxy Aarau

Complete project development process

The Turidomus Investment Foundation, part of the Pensimo Group, owns the Aarauerhof. red KG AG was commissioned to manage the development of this existing property.

Starting in 2028, the international operator group "The Chocolate on the Pillow Group" (COTP) will open the fifth Moxy Hotel in Switzerland – and the first in the Canton of Aargau – in the historic building on Bahnhofplatz. By then, the property owner will have invested approximately 25 million Swiss francs in modernizing and expanding the building. The Moxy Aarau will offer 145 modern rooms. The ground floor will house a reception area and public spaces such as a trendy bar and a comfortable lounge café. An event space and a fitness area are planned for the basement.

"With the Moxy Aarau, we are realizing another exciting project together with Marriott and are delighted to continue our expansion in Switzerland," explains Erik Florvaag, CEO and Managing Partner of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group.

“With this new hotel, we've secured a prime location. Thanks to its central location right next to the train station and its appealing design, the Moxy Aarau will attract not only travelers but also the local community, adding a new dimension to the city.”

With its ninth Moxy hotel, the multi-brand hotel operator is taking another step in its expansion strategy and underscoring its commitment to creating a modern atmosphere for a new generation of travelers. Moxy Hotels, part of the US-based Marriott hotel group, are redefining the hospitality experience with their industrial design, vibrant social spaces, and distinctive programming. The young and modern Moxy brand stands for style and functionality, scoring points with inviting social hubs and clever guest solutions. In Switzerland, the brand is already present in Bern, Lausanne, Rapperswil, and Sion.
