With the opening and takeover of the Mercure Zurich City announced for November 1, 2023, hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group is expanding into Switzerland for the first time, together with Accor as a locally rooted partner.
Accor and the German multi-brand hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group are expanding the Mercure portfolio in Switzerland. This is the seventh joint project for the two partners - two more are being planned. With the opening and takeover of Mercure Zurich City, announced for November 1, 2023, The Chocolate on the Pillow Group is expanding into Switzerland for the first time. Centrally located in the “Vulcano” built in 2018 – an architectural highlight and inner-city landmark in the up-and-coming Altstetten district – the hotel will undergo extensive modernization measures as part of the rebranding.
With the successful rebranding as Mercure Zurich City, the hotel operations will be transferred to the Chocolate on the Pillow Group and Accor as the brand sponsor on November 1, 2023. Both groups are renowned and internationally successful hospitality companies, which was the decisive criterion in the selection process.
